Blasting schedule in the Laakso Hospital area ramped up to four slots a day
Blasting works in the Laakso Hospital area are scheduled to take place at 9.00 a.m., 1.00 p.m., 4.00 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

A fourth detonation slot – at 5.30 p.m. – has been added to the blasting schedule for safety reasons. The additional slot will only be used if the crew misses the 4.00 p.m. slot.
“If a blasting charge has been set and the crew misses the final detonation slot of the day, the area will have to be kept lit and guarded until 9.00 a.m. the following morning or, if this happens on a Friday, over the weekend,” explains a representative of the site.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Blasting in a nutshell:
- As a rule, blasting works are carried out every day from Monday to Friday.
- Detonation slots can be found on Working hours page.
- Not all the slots always need to be used, however, and there will be no blasting at other times.
- An intermittent siren will sound before each blast.
- A continuous siren tone signals that the blasting operation has been completed.
