Nordec Group Oy: Nordec Awarded Contract for the southern part of Laakso Joint Hospital Main Building Project
Nordec is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract for the southern part of the Laakso Joint Hospital Laakson project. This new contract covers Blocks A and B and includes the manufacturing and installation of steel frames, as well as the installation of concrete elements supplied by Lujabetoni Oy.
The Laakson yhteissairaala project is one of Finland’s largest construction projects, aimed at providing state-of-the-art medical facilities. Nordec’s involvement in the project began with development phase, following the project of northern part of the main building, in blocks C and D. The company has now been entrusted with the southern part, ensuring continuity and consistency in the construction process.
Key Details of the Contract:
- Scope: Manufacturing and installation of steel frames for Blocks A and B.
- Concrete Elements: Installation of concrete elements supplied by Lujabetoni Oy.
- Timeline: Work is proceeding according to the original schedule, with
- Nordec’s delivery targeted for completion by early 2026.

Nordec’s delivery consists of over 8 kilometers Nordec slim-floor beams, over 4 kilometers composite columns and in total approximately 16000 structures to be installed on site.The Laakson Joint Hospital project involves the construction of two new hospital buildings and the renovation of two protected hospital buildings in Laakso Hospital area. In addition, a new forensic psychiatric hospital will be built in Ohkola area in Mäntsälä. The main building, which Nordec is working on, will serve as a major teaching and research hospital, providing psychiatric medical care, neurological rehabilitation, and other critical medical services.
